All metal hunting with the T2SE

I will probably go ahead and get this detector soon. I usually hunt for civil war relics and the spot I hunt has been spanked by every detector I can think of. I believe there has to be some deeper targets. My brother dug a breastplate out of a rifle pit some years ago and it was BARELY audible with a Nautilus. Was wondering if hunting in the all metal mode would give better depth. The ground I hunt in is from sandy to moderate soil. Relics usually come out looking good if we're not in a farm field...fertilizers, etc. as you know, will eat up a relic. Any settings to help with the best hunting I can get out of the detector will surely be appreciated. Thanks.
