comes the rubbish, it's quite amazing when you look at the trash accumulated over a period of time just how many bend over and digs it takes to collect some good stuff.
However when I showed this picture to the manager of our local parks and recreation areas he was thrilled to bits and renewed my permit without a hitch.

All the best and a Merry Christmas to all on the forum.

Boony - WOW...

Funny to see it all piled up like that. Savage, Sunzabeach and I all us my car's trunk for the trash. I have coffee cans in the trunk and after hunting a certain site and then going through the trash (JUST in case something good was missed), we put it in some of them and we just started keeping one for copper scrap (suggest by another club member and we have already filled two cans in the last month, suppose to be about $ 3.00 a pound - so what the hey!), and we fill a minimum of a can and sometimes up to three a week.

And....if your figure like you said, how many times we actually bend over by seeing it like that, easy to see why I sometimes stiffen up, huh?

Have a great One Boony and keep Wide Eyed and Wide Open.

I've been known to do the exact same thing, even keep a bag in my truck with a collection of many pouches worth to show.
Most people that have never detected don't have a CLUE just how much metal trash is in the ground. Usually when the see my trash bag for the first time the say WOW, it's usually followed up with ... I never realized when I threw that little pulltab, screwcap, etc. on the ground how many more folks do it to.
Well Duh ...
People just don't THINK, they just throw it down :(

Good Job Boony :beers:

Hi Guys,

It certainly adds up, that little pile is a bit over twelve months, and yes there was some good stuff among it. $1375 in clads, 19 silver rings, 8 gold rings, a couple of bracelets and numerous other bits and pieces both valuable and not so valuable. However disregarding all that it's still a great hobby and it's a pity we can't educate the knockers, as soon as they hear metal detecting they think, holes everywhere.
Happy hunting folks.....Boony
