This not only is a whatzit but a wherezit and a whenzit as well. I have no idea where or when I found this thing, nor why I have kept it either. Normally I throw this stuff out, mainly just to annoy Steve. Anyway, this thing is fairly light and delicate so I doubt that it was a watch fob. Most likely it was some part of a ribbon or possibly a medal. It is made up of some kind of a bronze alloy with a few traces of either silver or nickle plating. Obviously it is an ornate capital "R" on a crest or shield. The back is completely blank. Hey Steve, maybe you have one of these stored away some place. My guess is it was part of a blue ribbon for guys who danced with retards?

...nah, I think it's a fob, Nim. Here's one with a similar "K", not nearly as fancy as yours though. You can find pics of quite a few Victorian watch fobs, nice silver and gold ones going back into the 1800's. I daresay your's could be 100 years. Ever nice, you did well not to throw this one in the trash!

You know, I gotta give ya this one thing about coins though... sure is nice holding them at arms legnth to make out the date and not having to worry about whose pocket they were in, eh?

I never seen one mounted to a cloth ribbon before like the one in the photo below. All of the other fobs I have found were pretty heavy and quite sturdy. Thanks Bud, I guess I learned something new today.

...I'm gonna have to ask you to sit down and quit bothering the paying customers.
