If you want to pick coins from around concession stands or other areas of very thick aluminum tabs, slaw and the like you might try these settings. You will only get US coins but that's better than digging tons of trash to get them. It's mostly about tones:

5 tones:
Disc 56 120
VDI's 56-62 530
62-82 120
82-93 530
93-99 993

You could just use 4 tones and go straight from 62 to 93 but I like to be able to make some quick adjustment in that range for dimes that can fall from 80 to 85. Never mind the pennies.

I use reactivity at 2.5 or higher,other settings at your choice. You will still get some aluminum but it will be greatly reduced and you will filter coins out of the mess. It's not perfect but I find it pretty effective.

What is your preferred Freq, I assume 12kHz as to not hit as hard on small aluminum compared to 18kHz?

When you say never mind the pennies is it because you can ignore the highest tone from 93-99? Forgive me if this seems like a naive question, I forget at times you guys have had zinc pennies for a long time now so it's not clear which type you are ignoring. (Or all pennies? Even poor old wheaties?)
Can you apply a low tone to the ignored pennies? (Or maybe you did if zinc hits your 62-82 120Hz range, which I assume it does?)

Zinc pennies usually come in the 70's. Nickels hit in the 56-62 range. Quarters and up will be 93-99. Dimes are a bit untrustworthy but usually hit at 83, hence the little adjustment area I put in. I use these settings with my 9" round coil, at 14 khz although it could be any coil at any frequency because it's a crude program and not concerned with depth. VDI's do not vary that much with frequencies according to my tests but may require a little adjustment of break points. Deus makes that easy and quick.

It's good for when you've had a dry day, are getting impatient, and just want to charge in there and GET SOMETHING !!!

And it works.
