Wow...that was cool Mark! :clapping:...could really hear the modulated/proportional audio kicking in as you started dropping sens too...so a fellow would be better off running a lighter sens, and boost mode for a cleaner audio understanding of the target and depth right?

It would be a whole lot neater if you could switch from DE to boost mode by pushing a button. That makes more sense to me.

Nice video. Thanks for sharing.

makes me wish I had held out for the F75LTD instead of the standard model....which I really enjoy.

So I've been thinking, if the EMI is bad then I should, maybe turn the F75 down until it is quiet. That is so hard to do, but the boost mode seems to have a lot of detection power even at those very low settings.

Outstanding video Mark, never saw that one before, will that also switch the opposite way? to check light tick in DE mode to obtain a stronger reading BP? What are the characteristics of the rivet, Brass 1" long 1/4" Dia, to get an idea of the size being down 7 1/2"?

Umm.., I got a dumb question not trying to start anything here, has anyone tried any tests of this nature with the F70 in SL mode to see how it performs in a similar situation?

Ayet, I wonder that myself...

My 70 performs almost exactly similar to the video Mark posted...in DE mode and a lower sens (40-50)..and a disc of 1....locks onto coins and weeds out the scrap, bottlecaps, etc you can still hear them, but they are not a solid sound...everything except those tarp grommets..anything silver, copper, brass, or heavy aluminum, it hits hard and locks right onto...

The rivet is round and slightly larger than the end of a standard pencil eraser. It is about 1/8" thick and has a very small hole in the center. The rivet is made of copper and was found while relic hunting many years ago. Not sure what it might have gone on. Hope this helps. I can say I was truly amazed that this machine could see it, especially at the very low settings. Over the past year I've tried many machines and most can't see the rivet regardless of settings. The boost process really makes the difference.

That is an interesting experiment to try but I doubt it will carry over to really difficult or "hot"ground. What was your GB number? I usually GB in the high 80s and low 90's and the FeO meter on the right of the VDI jumps around like your confidence on the meter left. I noticed your FeO meter never lit up at all until very briefly near the end . Sensitivity readings above 40 or 50 are unusable and BP mode is a pipe dream in my dirt and sens. of 30 is usually required to get a pleasant machine to hunt with.in DE.

Hey Little John!

Who needs Boost Process anyway with all the good stuff you've found w that 75 anyway?

Each site is different, where EMI is high I use bp mode and lower the sensitivity until quiet, there has been times where the EMI was so bad de or pf had to be used. At another site I might be able to run bp mode and a sensitivity setting of 87 and the machine is silent. In bad ground where trash is very limited then bp and a discrimination of 8 or so will do the trick. The main thing is to find the settings where the machine is fairly quiet with the coil still and in the air. This machine is very versatile, sometimes it just takes a little adjusting to find the sweet spot on settings.
Hopes this helps.

I actually started off with the original F75 and it found me a lot of silver. But I truly love my LTD and can say if a person, especially me, will take the time to learn I'll even get better with it.

Mark, same here. I wrote in another thread that I'm still not use to the boost process, yet....after thousands of hrs on the standard 75. I was a little surprised about that tid-bit from your video. If you come across something else, I for one would like to know....and I'll do the same...Thanks.

Mark I was totally surprised at the low sensitivity setting while in boost mode. I have been brain washed into thinking I have to run high sensitivity settings to get good depth, but I see now that was incorrect. Now I know there will be sites where I can run medium/high settings, but it's far better to run the machine stable. There is a lot of learning to be had from this video.
