An hour with Jacky at the mighty Housatonic river

Yesterday, while Hank was "glued" to theTV  watching Rory McIlroy breeze through 18 to win the US OPEN, Jacky and I took a jaunt across town to the shore of the Housatonic River .( name is derived from a Mohican phrase "us-a di-en-uk, which traslates : "beyond the mountain place".)

The Housatonic runs southward from Northwestern Mass. through the Berkshires to Connecticut and empties into Long Island Sound.

There are many parks , boating and fishing areas along the river for all to enjoy. ( I think I spied Elson's boat in the marina :smoke: )

I have detected at this particular area and have found a Colonial shoe buckle in the wooded areas. My detecting friends have found old coins and Indian artifacts here.

Here's some pics for you to enjoy.
