An Old Diamond (?) Men's Ring

It's 18K, 6.8 grams. We get a lot of these old hollow "shell" rings up here, mostly 10k.

Still a pretty ring CJC.....Nice find.

Clive for us novices, where did you find it. I don't mean which lake but how deep in the water, wet or water or dry sand, what were your settings and what machine. When we wannabees read your messages its from an interest point of view + a learning opportunity.
I have read 4 of your books and really started to see my finds increase.

Very nice Clive... check the cut of the stone ..if at the bottom its flat it could be a minecut and they tend to be very valuable... I found minecuts as well as a couple of my friends and for the most part are nearly flawless.

Nice find there. At 18K I would think the stone may be real. Have you tested it yet? I know you're used to seeing tickets like that but I would have tested it immediately, lol. I've found a few nice ladie's diamonds but never a man's. I would love to find one like that. Bravo Zulu. :clapping:

Hi Gerry
That's from a freshwater beach. I've hunted it for a while and have a good idea of the depth of water where you have periodic opening up of the grade to reveal some deep finds. Posted three from the identical depth last month. Those "shell" rings tend to get moved around too so this one--not that deep may have been propelled over the top of the berm behind it. Found with an Aquasearch, right beside the digs of another hunter. Just the sensitivity of the machine I guess.

i"d be jumping for joy if i found a nice peace like that  the Aquasearch sounds like a great detector but it"s a bit pricey for me at the moment maybe i"ll get one after i find some more diamonds.
