An unusual find for east central Indiana...

found this button at an old home in town. Someone told me it was a Civil War era button. The back reads "Scovill Mfg Co Waterbury". I almost tossed it in my junk box. LOL

Congrats on your Staff Officer's button. I found two CW buttons near Ft. Wayne Saturday and I saw another found yesterday in west Ohio also near Ft. Wayne. Maybe not so unusual finds for the area, but great finds none the less.:super:
 
I live in Randolph Co which has never had a large population. Any military artifact found here is a rarity for me.

Ive found a couple of those style buttons here in Bloomington. I beleave they were from the Civilian Corps that did work during the depression years. A lot of work was done by they here and other places like the National Parks.
