Andy is it too late to talk Alain into cutting the cord between Reactivity and Silencer in v4?

Remind me why silencer auto changes with reactivity? I often switch between Reac 1 and 2 and if I recall from memory, Reac 2 sends silencer to 3!! Holy depth killer. I'm always setting it back to 0 and don't get why there isn't a menu option to turn this off - i.e. lock in Silencer 0. Thanks.

I don't understand the consternation and displeasure this linkage creates for so many people. The two are obviously closely connected so it's logical there would be a need to most likely adjust both when you adjust one. Such a simple button push to cause so much angst. I would think the inability to roll backward on the menu would be much more a PITA than verifying the silencer. I would love to be able to scroll back to a previous menu item rather than have to push the button six times to get to back to one I went by in haste.

I'll explain it this way. Silencer is a proven depth killer. I bet if you took a poll, you'd have way more people that keep it on -1 or 0 than people who don't. People, especially newbies, sometimes forget to change silencer when changing reactivity, or like me are annoyed with having to even do so every.... single.... time. It's not a simple button push. It's up to 4 or 5 annoying button pushes, expert, then minus 3 to 4 times, multiple times a hunt.

That's just devastating!!

 I'd say having to push the controller buttons 5 or 6 times is a very minor PITA. But if that is too much stress, you can get it down to 1 or 2 button pushes by putting the settings you want in adjacent programs.

Having said that, I thought that V4 was "cutting the cord" between the Reactivity and Silencer?

Unfortunately V4.0 will retain that link . . . and based on discussions, likely will remain that way moving forward . . . a pain but easily addressable by saving two programs side-by-side and toggling between them

Sorry

Andy

I see no good reason to have the silencer change when reactivity is changed.

Actually,,from a remote button "wear" perspective,,,,should have been addressed with version 4 update.

I also agree that a setting should not change when you adjust a different setting. Many people me included forget to check to make sure the silencer is set to -1 or 0. Is there anyone out there that even uses the silencer at levels above 1-2? I personally think you'll miss to many targets with the silencer any higher then 1.

Thanks glad some people agree with me. It doesn't make sense, and forgetting can hurt depth. So I guess I'll try a program one-up.
