Another Barber sister gets re-united.

Was in the woods this morning before the early morning sun was above the tree tops. Quite quickly I hit a spot along a down tree that yielded 4 tokens. 3 "no value" ones and the 4th just has V B in the crown. No other writing on it and it is in good shape. I picked off 3 or 4 clad coins then got a nice 79-84 reading on the edge of a trail. That turned out to be a 1902 Barber quarter. She, not any more then me, was glad to get re-united with her other 3 sisters. A few more pieces of clad and a 49d wheatie came to light and then I ran into the 3 MERRY WIDOWS again. These 2 condom containers now make 4 different varieties that I have found on this site. One of the containers has their 3 names on it...Agnes, Mabel and Becky. The Barber quarter was under 4" of wet leaves and I had to swing the coil another 4-5" above some underbrush. It was only 3" deep, but with the brush and leaves would have easily been a 9" or so deep target. Good ole LTD air gap. I had the 11"dd coil on in bp mode, and sen 85, 0 disc., 3h tones and gb of 59-61. HH jim tn

Another nice find Jim! Keep em comin! Mudpuppys definition of detection as "the study of humans interaction with topography" seems to be appropriate in this case!!

yes, it seems these woods had a few more things taking place then just hiking and picnicking. Just got back from the morning hunt. Not much to show, so won't. Did get a no date Buffalo nickel, some Memorials, 5 clads and another 3 Merry Widows lid. This one also has their three names on it. I have a pretty good collection now of those containers. Wow, what a beautiful day and several more in store. Come on you northern swingers, it should be about time for us to some some yankee goodies. HH jim tn
