This time I ventured away from the volleyball courts and hunted more in the dry sand and near the parking lots. I am starting to think this place is regularly hunted, as most of what I am finding feels like fresh drops.
Nothing fancy this time unfortunately, the frog earring is another confirmation that I am in the right place for jewelry. The big clump of red rust in the middle is possible a buckle or clasp, currently soaking in white vinegar. The tiny yellow screwdriver, magnifier and toothbrush are mine.
The last image is of a nickel that represents some ups and downs. When I was home, kinda feeling meh after the hunt, I saw the date 1942. And my first assumption was that it was my first silver find. I felt proud and justified....but then I did my research and discovered that this nickel was a 1942 with no mint mark. Thus no silver content, having been made before the switch to silver in Oct 1942. Oh well, I just tell myself that I am hot on the trail and my first silver and hopefully gold will reveal themselves soon.
Lastly, I just received my first permission and I am pretty darn excited, as to be expected. This property is old and on a corner lot. I am anticipating some trash at the corner but hopefully some good digs too!
HH guys!
