Another Fab Hunt for Labor Day!!!

I will let the pictures speak for themselves with only minimal description. I need some help on number one.

Very first dig was this. I assume it's Asian and it looks old. Made of copper. Hits where an old Wheat or IH would hit. It is the size of a quarter. Just a hair smaller actually. I am going to post it on the Whatzit Forum too. Both sides if interested.

A bit later. I am blocking out the school name to semi-protect this site so that's why the odd photo. I am going to try to return it Wednesday when school starts.

Always nice to beat your oldest US coin record by almost 50 years isn't it? 1819 Large cent. It took me hours to get it. I am extremely confident that I am correct.

How long since my last silver coin? July 3rd? Hope my next one isn't two months away. Needs a bath.

Any other jewelry? Pretty sure it's junk. Found in two pieces. Needs a bath too, and testing. I'll do it some other time.

How about some clad? 1000 coins from my next goal. I'm sure you can read about it here later this month.

One of my favorite days of all time! Not as good as my gold coin or that gold chain and ring last Saturday but it's close! I had to stop. Believe me I went as long as I could take it.

Who the heck is Bettie Page?

Nice finds. Bettie Page was a pin up girl. Why do you ask?

That pin with my clad is a good looking gal with that name. I'll have to research it some. Maybe if you click on the photo you can see it a bit better.

It's a Paisa from Nepal early 1900s. I found one on Ebay that looks just like it dated 1909. Only 90 years newer than the large cent that I found about 200 yards away.

Those are very nice finds. What metal detector did you use?

Some quality finds you dug up...

WOW, sure was a great hunt. Very nice pic's

There is a lot more there I bet as I only got to hunt about 2 percent of a large field. I can't wait to get back. We need some rain in a bad way now. A few of my sites are ok, a few are too dry. This site was good in spots dry in others.

I was pleased that the photo of the large cent came out ok with only two tries. As always, it looks better in person and there is more detail there than the photo shows. The 181 in the date are obvious. The 9 was only made easier (there is still about a 5% chance it is 181:geek: because this particular Liberty head was only used from 1816 on. I get anxious when I dig up an old copper or nickel coin because I know that taking it out of the ground and removing the dirt that it has on it usually hurts its condition. I wish there was a simple and effective way to conserve and stabilize them.

Thanks for the nice compliment. I know my photos leave a lot to be desired.
