With the 705. Got out yesterday, I can't believe the weather here!!! The Maynard Carbine bullets were all found in a 20' area. Also got a 1887 Indian in the same field. Those big fat .69 bullets are always fun to dig................Mark

Well, the little battle at this place was in 1863, so American Civil War...............Mark

Good stuff Mark. Looks like you're having a great time. The nice thing about having these temperatures this time of year is that, if it does turn cold, it won't last long. HH Randy

Looks like it was a super day! I swear I've dug that same reed plate at least twice.

Is the headstamp on that shotgun shell readable?

WOW!! The bullets are so cool....got a question??? Do you assume or know if the bullets are fired or dropped..some look blackened on the ends and some are so perfect looking..not familiar in any way when it comes to these type of finds...
Nice relics Mark!!

Really good finds. Thanks for showing!

That is the base of a Maynard shell that the bullets go to.

Dropped bullets usualy only have slight damage, maybe from a plow. The color varies as to where they are located. Around here if you find them in the woods, they are brown colored.
