I headed out with a buddy of mine for a relic hunt. He used his GTI 1500, I used the GTI 2500. My portion of the hunt got some interesting finds. Although I didn't get any old coins today, I was impressed with what I got. I had the GTI 2500 set up so that it would image (size) the target and also give it's depth all at once. Flipping between true all metal mode &
discrimination mode set to relics, I hunted most of the day in true all metal mode, except when it got too trashy.

Here's the best finds of the day. I have hunted this same spot over and over again for over 10 years, and it just keeps on giving.

Looks to be in good shape. I haven't seen Gene Autry stuff since I was a kid and that's about 137 years ago. Wonder if the gun and holster is laying around close. Wouldn't it be a lick to find something like that. That would be some bucks. Some years back Gene Autry bought the Western Museum that my sister-in-law ran down in Temeculs, California ( owned by Bianci Leather ) and moved it to Burbank, California. Man that place had everything and a lot of the western stars used to come out to see the stuff. John Wayne had been there and then after he passed his whole family came out to see his exibit and all the other stuff.

It was a better place when our heroes were Gene Autry and John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, etc. I'm not very impressed with what passes as heroes today in the entertainment world. I never heard any of them use the foul language in a movie that you do now. Mr. Garrett is my hero since I got into metal detecting! A class act all the way and so is his family. I have never met them, but hope to one day.
