The main Co. my Ex. worked was Carlyle there was a Sub Division here in Vancouver under another name and that is who my Ex wife worked for---Today she got up and went too work as normal at 6 O'clock; At noon Half of the work crew was told there jobs were gone---By (1)o'clock 150 people were escorted out the door and told not to ever come back on the plant Property Again---I thought there was a law passed a few years ago that there had to be so many days Notice before you are laid off---Guess not---That was the same way I was notified when I was working for I.P (International Paper Co) I had over 20 years in and one day they told (3) shifts they were History---Days was told when they left Swing when they came to work and Graveyard read in the Eve. News--- My Son and Daughter have been out of work for (3) Mo.Both are wondering if the will ever find a job so they can keep there houses---Miller lumber people are lucky they still have a job---All (3) in my family lost there jobs because of other Companies that went broke causing there jobs to disappear---The way things work now days you can have a job ONE DAY and the next 1/2 DAY they are History---I hope No One Here Loses Their Job; but you never know ! ! !

My Ex. worked in a plant that was tied to Electronics---They Made wire for most any company but lately I think they were Tied to a single company and that's Bad---I know they used to make Harnesses for 18 wheeler cabs and for Night Vision cameras---What is bad is they didn't give any severance pay to only a few---The Ex. did get 3 Months severance and they paying for 65% of her health plans for 18 Months---That Time will go in a flash---

.... about working for the company I worked for before going into business for myself. I still wake up at night in cold sweats from nightmares where I got either asked to perform unreasonable work loads successfully or fired and couldn't provide for my family.

Things seem to go in cycles. I quit that "big buck" job to come to Florida to make less than $20K my first year, ....got up to the big buck numbers again, .... and now am doing without any salary at all so I can pay and keep our best employees without reducing their pay or hours.

Most all small business owners are doing like we are to keep their businesses and employees as healthy as possible.

Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and need to be supported over the big boxes, and / or national / multi national companies who really can't / won't do without executive pay / perks so that the employees can still work and pay bills.

Non locally owned businesses have almost no impact on the local economy. Locally owned businesses on average spend 45% or more locally. Locally spent money is re-spent locally, helping keep more local folks employed.

IMHO, every dollar you spend at a locally owned company will help more family and friends maintain their employment than if you spend that dollar at a non locally owned company.

...There is one piece just to the right of the column with the two horse shoes, and to the left of the bouncy ball, it is six rows up from the ground... Whats with that dead spot? Can we do something with that spot? Can I send you something to fix that Mr. Cross? How are they split? 4 13/16in. x 6 7/8in. x18in. I'm Sorry it's just gonna bother me.
Walt.
