Another Short Hunt Today=Silver

Old Longhair

I had to cut wood today, but I also had to go into town to the bank and P.O., so I grabbed the 705 w/15" 3kHz All Terrain and hit the park. This isn't my proving ground park. It's not as old or as big, and it's been pounded by everyone.
Still found '36 & '40 Wheats, an old School Band medal, and a '43 George,

Sweet, silver and wheat's, WTG. I would say that park is not pounded all that hard since you was able to find all that good stuff with a 15" coil, lol

I'm going to check out the fields this weekend to see if the ground is thawed any yet, I hope.

Yesterday I did use a detector tho, a fish detector. I went ice fishing all day and did pretty good. Lots of crappies and yellow bass.

Good stuff Old Longhair. You give me hope...... the last of the snow is just about gone. And from what I've noticed in the fields, there is very little run-off. So I am hoping that means the ground is thawed....at least in spots! HH Randy

OH! So you're home now, eh Randy?
I got out in a field some yesterday. Found a clock gear, a salt shaker top, two ax heads, a really nice crotal bell, and a '36 Wheat. Tons of iron near the old foundation, so I'll go back with the 6" 3kHz next time to hunt closer to it.

And as for that park...I've personally covered the area where that quarter was more than once. The difference is in how silver responds to 3kHz.You have to remember, other than the FBS/BBS machines, the DFX was the only other 3kHz capable machine until the Xterra. When I go back next time with the "DIGGER" coil on I expect I'll find even more.

Yep, made it back buddy. But when I saw all the white stuff piled up when I arrived, I realized I may have come home too early! Oh well, in a few short months, I'll probably be complaining because it is too hot and dry! HH Randy

nicely done
