It was about 4:30 pm this afternoon and I had been itching to get out with the detector all day long. Having just got back from the grocery store and put away all the goods, I asked SWMBO if it would be okay if I ran up to the local soccer complex before it got dark....it gets dark at 5:30 pm now! That would only give me less than an hour to hunt, but, hey...that's better than nothing! Before she had all of "I don't care" out of her mouth, I was putting the F75 in my truck. Got to the park and hit the field closest to me.....wasting no time. Immediately, I could see someone else with a detector had been there very recently. I'm no CSI, but, the crudely replaced plugs still had moist dirt around them and were easily discernible. This "person" was a real piece of work.....it seems he didn't want to disturb anything he found, so, he put all his trash back in the hole he dug!
I swung a few of them getting good hits and it was obvious that they were trash. In the middle of all this person's holes (I wouldn't call them an MD'er!), I was picking up plenty of coins........can't imagine what they may have been looking for!
Anyhow, long story short, I picked up over $2.00 in clad, SWMBO called to tell me it was dark (like I couldn't tell) and I told her I was on the way to the truck right then.....but, still swinging. After digging a couple of nickels, dimes and a quarter, I picked up a strong penny signal (steady 61 on the VDI) about 30 feet from my truck......I knew it wasn't deep from the tone.....I'll dig it!! Sure glad I did, it turned out to be my third silver ring in just over a month! The maker's mark is from a silversmith in Dublin, Ireland:
It is a very small ring, children's size.......
PSCL is the maker's mark.......
And the "925" sterling mark.......
Sorry to pics are so out of focus, just couldn't get them right this evening! Merry Christmas and best wishes to all!!!
