Another smashed beer can

Mark in S.E. IA

New member
Yesterday I started off my day at a 1RSH that I hit last fall. I wanted to hit a area that I did not hit all that good last fall but I didn't find anything there. Then I went to another 1RSH that I hit 2 weeks ago and when I was there at that time their was a small area that was way too wet to MD so I went back to finish it up and I only found a clay marble on the ground and I forgot to put it in the picture. Next I went to a woods that use to have a farm house. I was there over a year ago and found a IH and a few wheat's before I got rained out so I went back to hit it some more and only found a 1899 IH and a wheat.

On the way home I stopped at a park that use to have a school house there and now it's a city park. I know a guy that has hit this place hard with a etrac but like they say,,, a place is never cleaned out. This place is loaded with can slaw, rusty bottle caps and smashed beer cans. I was out along the back edge when I found a 1935 Merc, then a wheat and after about digging my fifth smashed beer can i come across another one but this one sounded like it was only 3" deep so I just poked my knife in the ground to pop it out and out popped a 41 walker with a bad scratch on the back from me..... I never expected to find a WALKER at this place, it's been hit hard in the past but I guess it pays to dig those smashed can.

I'm sorry guys, when I'm talking about 1RSH, I'm talking about 1 room School Houses.

I got out to another 1RSH today and it was picked over pretty good but I did manage to find a IH, Buff and 2 wheat's.

Great finds Mark!
Love the Walker. That's exactly why I don't ever notch out 46. ;)

WOW Mark, real nice find. You have a real keen sense of knowing where to hunt. CONGATULATIONS!!!!
I need to start door knocking again, that's my only chance of finding old silver......
Hey, even this beach bum got the 1RSH acronym.

On the X505 it was a locking 45 and I'm guessing that would be a 46 on the X705. I noticed after that when I come across other smashed beer cans the numbers would jump just a lil and when I wiggles the coil and drug it back to me the last tone I would hear was very soft iron grunt. That helped me in cutting down on digging those cans.
