Another weird Outlaw quirk

Hi everyone... im waiting for the video to finish uploading and will post when done. I just tried some backyard testing after some weird field behavior today. A merc at 6" and a pulltab at 6" in good clean ground. Nothing on the merc but solid on the pulltab. I crank the disc maxed out and still hit the pulltab. Turn the disc to minimum and still no dime. Take the pulltab out of the ground and its disced out... What the hell is going on??? i know, i know...send it in.. It will go back this week. I hung on as long as i could hoping all of the weird quirks were user error...not the case..

I know its stronger on pulls than dimes, but it is funy it will not disq out the pull even at full disc

Maybe not ground balanced properly.

tabman

My F75 did same thing nothing takes them out........at around 5- 6 inches in the ground.. Early 60's variety..

Sorry part one is taking a bit to load so part one and two will be out of order...

Are you shure thear is not somthing in that hole ? now i have to go and try that cot darn it

well i just did the test a dime buried at a solid 5" and the same pull as you had 5" deep and I started to loos the pull at nickle on the disc dial but if you swept slow it still came thru on the tab dime still was doing find and then i put the dial to tab and the tab was gone , and the dime still sounding and all the way nothing on eather of them , I would sugjest a difrent spot somthing is going on with that spot you are in or the machine is out of whack

I went out with my Outlaw and tried to replicate your results in my coin garden (but the beaver tail tab is buried 4", the dime 5"). The tab got real choppy at just below Zn, the dime was fine until I just about maxed out the Disc. At Max Disc, both were gone except the tab would pop every third or fourth pass of the coil. Also, I used the 8 inch coil, not the 5.75. I dont know if that helps, but it appears Gunnar and my Outlaws are behaving similarly (with Gunnar's disc-ing more accurately with the dial labels) while yours appears to have an unrepentant love of pull tabs.

In real world conditions -- things in the ground for years -- I quite often dig up beaver tails that sound nice sweet and round even when I have the Disc set just above Zn. The beaver tail is by far my main nemesis when coin shooting.

Gun, absolutley nothing in the either hole before test. Heres the first half of the video.

wow thats frustrating, wonder how much treasure you have missed :(

somthing is wrong , You may now return it for repairs, its almost in revers almost seemed to get it better when you turned up the disc, no wonder its called the Outlaw, its is a very rebelouse machine, hopfully Tesoro can tame it for you . I think you have missed some silver

First problem is fresh buried coins. You disturbed the ground matrix. I gave up on my fresh test garden for a few years. When I first got my Silver uMax and hit my fresh test garden I was dissappointed and ready to junk the detector. Then I read up on test gardens and the ground matrix and just went detecting. I have found dimes at 6" but could barely hit them at 4" in a fresh test garden. Factor in soil types that your comparing against others and all bets of duplicating someone who lives somewhere else with different soil are. Do air test and compare your air test with someone else using the same settings. If I could find the article I read on the ground matrix and disturbing it I would post the link. Older pulltabs are hard to disc. out. Can disc out a nickel in the air?
