any button experts out there? found this today

Says p.f.d. On front and extra quality on back. I live in south Jersey maybe it's Philadelphia fire department or my town stars with a p as well. Not sure what to make of it or it's age. About 4 inches down.

Your local fire department or museum would verify that for sure. And I bet your right about it meaning fire department.

I would say Fire Department button is a dead on.
Looks like the many FD buttons I have found over the years.
