Any F75/Explorer owners here

What are your opinions on one versus the other if you dont mind. I have an Etrac and was thinking of trading my SE for an F75 to hunt Civil War campsites. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

I have an Explorer II/F70 combo. The F70 is a monster for relic hunting in trashy areas. What I use it for specifically is when I hunt old house sites that are in farm fields. On those sites I often use the "dig everything approach". Knowing that targets there are usually masked and not deep, the speed of the F70 allows me to pick out MANY more non ferrous targets that the explorer never sees. The F70 weights so little -probably half the weight of an SE. I still like the explorer for Deep park and house hunting (F70 could probably do very well in the same scenario), but the f70 no doubt is the best relic hunter I have owned. You can get the F70 for 350-400 used...f75 for 550-650 used. The only option I miss from the f75 is the trigger pinpoint/all metal switch.

Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I appreciate it

F-75 much easier to swing, fast response. I bought mine two/three years ago to see what a faster machine would do in the areas I considered worked out with my explorer. For the most part it doesn't seem to find much more. I think the two are pretty evenly matched. I feel the 2 dimensional display on the explorer gives much more information about whether to dig or not. You need to dig much more trash with the F-75, and it just LOVES bottlecaps. Pretty much discover if you get a great signal probably is a bottle cap.

The F-75 is very sensitive to smaller non-ferrous targets, I'm not sure if better than explorer because I might be ignoring the stuff that rings up in the boonies on the smart screen. I think in locations that you are going to dig everything above nails/small iron the F-75 would be a good choice.
