Any good safari vids out there ????

Howdy I'm new to the Safari also and had asked the same question. Found a good one by Shannon Fulks that was really good, showing the different sounds the Safari makes and if you should dig or not dig. Also watched several of Mrshovelnose videos last night most of his just has the finds and not the sounds the detector is making when he finds something. If you type in minelab safari I think there are 100's to watch, but so far most of what I have seen of those 100's they just show what is found rather then the actual hunting being done. Good luck. !

From your finds it doesn't look like you need to watch any Vids on how to use a Safari. Safari is NOT a good machine for beginners. Normally takes 100 hrs on it to learn what its saying to you. Has a very large learning curve. Best advice I can give you is watch all the vids you want but due to variables in the ground in different parts of the country until you do air test and plant a test garden to see how your machine acts in your area they just scratch the surface. Nickels read different on mine than what others state for example. Most read 13 on mine but find them at 14 and 15 but the tone they make is the same on all 3 TID's Ground matrix varies a lot around here in gold country. Take a gold ring and bury it to see how subtle a difference their is in it and a pop tab that is common in your area that rings in at the same TID. You can dig it back up. Air test on that wont help due to ground matrix can cause a difference. Test garden doesn't need to be "deep". 3" is more than enough to see where items fall on your MD. Yes my vids are more finds than educational but that is the reason and also taking the time to do that eats up a lot of time on hunts I just don't have. Sorry if It disappointed you KSCowgirl. Misunderstanding on my part. Thought you might enjoy seeing what can be found by someone experienced with this machine. People wonder why I quit posting on forums. Everybody is a critic from all the advice on how I should do my vids that I got in PM's. You don't have to watch guys and gals.

Here's a link to the above mentioned vids: https://www.youtube.com/user/shannonjeanne1/videos
There werent any ads on them, so I think its ok to post that. If not, Mr Mod, please accept my apology.

ChicagoRon has some good stuff out there, some of which shows his gear and the actual hunt. http://chicagoron.com/index.htm

C2H has some good advice there. Only thing I would differ on is the time it takes for that light bulb to go on above your head when you Get It. I think its more like 50hrs. Granted, this will vary widely based on not just an individual's abilities, but also how much his mind has been polluted by previous non-FBS/Minelab detectors. Musically inclined folks reputedly have an easier time learning the Safari too, for obvious reasons.

Even tho I consider myself an experienced Safari hunter, I agree that the best vids show the actual hunt. We're all happy for you that you found something neat, but a still pic is often better for showing that off. The Hunt is what I like to see in a vid.

Whow wasn't being a critic about your video's, its cool to see what can be found. Sorry if you took me that way. If Chris OC is like me and interested in getting to know the different sounds, and how to move the machine back and forth then the one on "to dig or not to dig" was a good one for that. I've gone through several video's as I stated looking at what cool stuff can be found, if I didn't like video's like yours then I would have quit watching them long ago but I still watch at least 5 a night before bed. I was just offering Chris advise that if he wanted a video that showed sounds ect to watch the one by Shannon Fulks, and that if wanted to watch video's of what finds are out there to watch Mrshovelnose.

I hope no one else read my post as being a critic of your video's. If it reads that way I'm sorry, putting down anyone's time, effort and willingness to share with others was not my intentions at all. I'm really sorry

Sorry didn't mean to go off. Just a couple of rude PM's and just got me fired up. You would not believe the stupid and rude remarks I get from other forums.

I agree, its great to be able to see people using the machine you own, showing you tips and making great discoveries with it, also its a great way to pass the time till you can get out on your own.

This is an excellent video explaining Safari settings and different tones:

Not much teaching on the Safari in my videos but Safari is all I use. Search My name Scott Woodall on you tube and check out my Civil War finds and others, here is a link too http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6fRC8B5EBPbRGNYCjDh9Xg][/url]
