It about 3 1/2 oz. Lower right corner filed off and is shiny like silver. Stamped Silver Gen on back.

The name looked familiar.
There is a company Called Merchant & Evans they make
Metal roofing Merchant & Evans manufactures ZIPRIB Structural/Functional Standing Seam
Metal Roofing
http://www.ziprib.com/zr/index-s03.html
I wonder if this could be part of a metal roofing system.

It's not magnetic and is heavy like silver or lead.
Metal roofing Merchant & Evans has no idea what it is.

Metal Roofing? Hmmmm... Is it solder? Maybe silver solder?
They used to solder seams for copper gutters and tin roofing back when.
Cut off a sliver with your pocket knife and see if you can melt it with a lighter.
Nice find!
