Here's a fun one. Whatever this/these are, is a mystery to me. My brother found these in the wet beach sands of NC last year.
Originally, they were all one piece, nowdays, they're three seperate pieces. Bro's guess was they were used for money/bartering in days gone by. I don't think so as they ring in at about a 400 on my Sovereign, no or little silver content.
The back side has a crosshatch on them, looking like a coarse cloth pattern. Sorry about the bright white reflection on the magnifying glass, it's the best I can do without a macro setting. <img src="/metal/html/frown.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":("> As you can see, they're about the size of a penny and they're thicker in their center than the edges. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before?

...they were about a foot or so square though. The cross hatch on the back, possibly for holding glue. Decorative metal trim for a box or a piece of furniture? <img src="/metal/html/shrug.gif" border=0 width=37 height=15 alt=":shrug">
