I'd love one.. I'm not willing to wait months and months for one though.. I have a friend who ordered one last year and he is still waiting for it...

Yeah, I had one. VERY deep and sensitive, probably the deepest and most sensitive submersible and they hold their resale value too, because the deal is, you get one! Don't hip mount it though, as it is very fragile and you will break it, unless you find a way to mount the control housing to a straight shaft or the stock s-shaft. A guy in Hawaii made me some customized Garrett Mark II brackets and it worked great. Guy I sold the unit to is still finding gold with it, as far as I know. Got my MOST valuable find with it, past my elbow in the sand and it was a barely audible blip in the threshold, here it is. Appraised at $2700. 120 bagget diamonds in a 12.4G 10K custom setting. Get ready to dig bobby pins past a foot though, hope it all works out for ya mate!

I can't really compare them because i have never used a whites surf PI pro. But I love my aquasearch. And it will go deep on the gold. real deep. and its easy to adjust to different conditions. I just bought a barricuda for a backup I like it for deeper water, it gets good depth but can't touch the aquasearch. hh willia

I ain't all that swift at metrics either. It is NOT a diving detector though. I would not recommend it for depths over about 6'. They sure are proud of them now, when I bought mine in '06, they were $1500 and now $1700, looks like a good investment?

Probably dont use it as much as I should, but a good machine! As GH stated it is not a diving unit, but a wading unit, so if you are looking for something for diving, look elsewhere. I have been tossing around the idea of a PI Pro DF for that purpose. Certainly bench testing does not give a true idea of a PI's depth, but the GQA2 gives some impressive results, detecting my 8.1g wedding band easily to 15 inches and at max, although not continuously, nearing 17 inches. Its a part of my arsenal that I am glad I have, and would not readily part with.
Regards,
Keith
