Grab won't go below 40 but manual balance goes all the way to 0 (salt). So you'll probably want to balance manually. On a nonmineralized beach you will probably be able to hunt in wet sand with sensitivity cranked down a bit. In the actual water it will usually overload so it's not for hunting where your ankles are getting wet.

On a mineralized beach the ground balance will shift around a lot. You may find it easiest to search in disc mode with ground balance at 0 and disc set at 39, and sensitivity cranked down.

In any case, sweep parallel to the shoreline, not at right angles to it. This minimizes the amount of moisture change you get in a sweep, helping to quiet the machine down and gaining sensitivity to targets.

Away from the wet stuff the T2 is a very good beach machine and will find the gold chains and small jewelry that the Explorers etc. walk right over without seeing.

Very Helpful Dave!!

I've found that if I manually set ground balance at about 10 or 15 and Sen. at abound 80 or 85 I can hunt the wet sand pretty good. Its kind of odd if I'm hunting in the wet sand it run quiet but if I move up to the dry sand it gets noise. You kind of have to play around with the setting and see what works best. Good luck.
