I tried the wet with no targets at all, tried the top of the wet to dry area for an hour, about $1.50 (all clad) and 3 tokens. Tried along the seawall (reinforced with large rebar) found anothe 50 cents or so. This beach had about 3-4 feet of new sand added in the last 2 weeks, inpreparation for the "summer kickoff" (Memorial Day Weekend). The weather has been cool, so, not a lot of beach goers yet. God, forgive me, for praying for a heat wave! Anyways, I did a lot of experimenting and found a few things to be true: if the ID reads 42-44-46, it was 2 quarters in the same spot 3 out 3 times! If I get a solid 12 in one direction, but a jumpy 12 in another, it was usually a nickle in with other trash. This coil really likes small pieces of aluminum foil (Trojan wrappers, etc) and I dug alot of it just because it might one day be a platinum piece of jewelry. I Did Not like the rusty bottle caps, with a halo, reading 40-42! The clean ones read 26-28 and sounded different too. It pinpoints real easy, just by "X"ing the target and scooping the "X". It makes you dig more trash, but, I still believe I will find more gold chains and smaller gold & platinum pieces than I ever did with my Elite or (now) my GT. I still need to figure out my beach "GB" settings & Sens settings, and, I think Pattern 3 or All Metal (with a Pattern 2 check, and in the Beach mode) with be my normal hunting modes. Right now, I still it like better in parks than my GT, but, I think I am more comfortable with the GT at the beach. I hope to use a couple more times before the holiday weekend is over.
