Metal Detector on em. ? Bought a metal detector of a nice guy that I have had dealings with before. He sent it USPS it is over due.It was a track and confirm.Only info I can get was it was acepted and a expected arrival date. I never had a problem with this before.. The package has alwas arrived,on said date and only once 1 day late....Well this one is now more than two days over due... I really think this one went poof!!. Me and seller think something is wrong anybody ever had this happen?

Contact your Postmaster with the Tracking number.... Things happen and it just might be enroute in the back of a truck a lettercarrier had t qit his route and got sick... The postmaster will get to the bottom of it...

My wife mailed her daughter a birthday card with $100 bill. Sheri got the card but the cash was not in the envelope. She said the envelope had a slit and was taped back together. Told the wife never send cash again, the postal employees know birthday cards could have cash. The post office said there is nothing they could do.

I do not Like USPS and their tracking....
I had a package sent that they list5ed on their site as being delivery attempted and notice left...
I spent time the following day spinning my wheels at the post office ooking for the package...
They delivered it the next day. No delivery had originally been attempted but the post master admitted that sometimes late in the day they will say that they did attempt delivery when they did not...
So tells me that this is a company that has No real honesty in their business.

EVERY package has an automatic Insurance value up to $500. You just need to verify the actual value of the item lost or stolen. If it is stolen then they AUTOMATICALLY report it to the FBI becaiuse all mail and parcels aree considered FEDERAL property when they take posession of it. If you file the claim you can do it IN PERSON with ID and your Reciept(s) and they will process it very fast. They don't fool around with that type of stuff happening. If caught someone will go to jail. You can Bank on that for sure. They don't play games with theives at all. I hope this helps. Let us know ok. PEACE:RONB

I didn't think USPS had "real" tracking, only delivery confirmation, and as for being 2 days late, I wouldn't panic over that, as they are quite often late, but they almost always will deliver.

My guess it was misdirected and had items arrive a week or more late...CAUTION: don't ever send money as in more than one case envelope arrives minus the bucks.....

Always use Fedex as tracking is great not that expensive and usually a day or so quicker than most. Hopefully you have a fedex store in your town...always thought UPS was tops but now prefer Fedex(hands down) since we now have a local Fedex facility....

Don't worry. I ordered a mine lab this year, co sent it UPS ,i wanted to sign for it instead of them just dropping it off at door. Well they didn't I found out by UPS driver put it in the screen door. But UPS said if was stole they would replace the full value of the item. I ran home , it was still there . I was lucky, but UPS was going to do the right thing if it was stolen.

WE are talking about UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE HERE not UPS tomorrow will be the tenth day. Somehow I don't think it takes ten days from TX to VA. The Seller is looking into it on his end. USPS shows it being accepted at sellers post office ,and a expected delivery which was last week and that is it ! The seller has graceously offered to repay me for detector.out of his next paycheck. But me and him both, like to know where is the detector? Will be interesting to find out what happened to it..

I order something that was shipped usps a month or so ago....
It took 10 days seems it was sent to ny then misdirected to nj then redirected.....Talk about getting lost....

Ha! you want to here something now a new delivery date! out for delivery 10 A.M the 11Th of OCT. oh really the mail came yesterday, and I was home yesterday STILL NOTHING First we had delivery date of the 6th it came and went, then the 11th it came and went. I wonder what bogus date we wiil get next.I can't wait for the post office to open today . I want to here the excuse they give me!!!!

I have shipped thousands of packages thru USPS, with very few problems. They are very reliable atleast in my experience.
My guess it will show, from what your saying it seems it shipped Parcel Post which can take up to 2 weeks.
I think your OK, probally show up in next day or 2,

Yeah, it can take ten days for a package to go from TX to Virgina. You are talking about the US Post Office, a semi-government, semi-private concern who's delivery times have dropped significantly since they revamped the Postal Service several years ago, back in the 80's, or, what it in the 70's, can't remember.

I sent Six Flags St. Louis passes to a client in state, to a town that I could have driven to in about five hours, or, less. The passes took two weeks to arrive, that's 14 days! 14 days to go less than 300 miles.

When I buy something in Canada, it takes about 3 to 4 weeks. I bought a something in California, earlier this year, took over two weeks for the guy to get his US Postal Money Order.

Bought some lower rods for my Safari from Moose. It took nearly 8 days for him to get his US PO MO from Missouri to Ohio.

Be patient. It is a comin'.

Just got to know how to send a package or a Money order. I send priority mail all packages and figure those going east or West of ND take 2-3 days, those going south to Texas and Florida may take 4 days and rare one takes over 5 day to get to its destination. If sending a Money order I Will sent Priority mail too and seen most take 2days and a couple take up to 4 days. Those to Canada take more days and see a lot of difference in time depending on Customs. Sent a detector to Korea that was global priority and was there in 3 days,Plugger mailed me a part from California on Saturday by Priority mail and had it here on Monday. I also had a couple bad ones too ,one that the package made it to the Post office in time, but not sent out for delivery until we did a trace on it. Another one that I know why it was late was a money order sent to my daughter Express mail in Bayonne NJ, but was sent out a day before the 911 and even with all of that she had it within a week.
Most everything I send out is by Priority mail and never had a complaint on how long it too, most couldn't believe how fast it got there.
To me USP has been a nightmare to me, but they are getting much better as before 90% of all packages I got in was crushed, now less then 10%, but it take over 5 working days to get anything and they don't count Saturdays a working day like the USPS. I had a couple of customer detectors we were waiting for sent back to Minelab as the driver said no such address ( our town has less then 15 houses and only a couple of streets) Sent a detector down to Texas by UPS and the guy wanted it sent UPS COD which I did and it took 6 weeks from the time I sent it out until I got my check from UPS as the guy paid with cash. and UPS only make checks out once a month.

Like I say the USPS is not perfect from what I read, but for me it has been Awesome and have no problem with them.

USPS is doing a great job... I get things from CA in 4-5 days. Neighboring state in 3 or less. My Postmaster is proud of his job ad his employee's. The Postal Inspectors will aid in theft cases. Suggest you contact them and fill out a formal complaint form. You can do it online or over the phone..

Most of the USPS people I have dealt with are civil and freindly. Their jobs are as tough as anyones. 99.9% of the time it works. Sometimes there's a glitch but they've always done their best for me.

Make sure your Postmaster knows the details of your detector and ask him to let you know what he finds out. If it really doesn't show, file a Postal Inspecor Complaint.. Get copies of your senders information and forms as well.

This was a strange situation -- this detector more than likely got shipped to the wrong zip code (even though it was correct on the package) then it takes "days" anyway Paul got his detector and all worked out well
