From what I've read on the F75, it's a good all around machine but it can't hold a candle to the Minelab Explorer SE Pro or the E-Trac for depth or detectability. Not even White's top the line can compare to the detectors in the Minelab stable. If you're seriously thinking of spending that kind of money on a metal detector, begin with the best and you'll not have regrets later. Here's the Minelab story:

" Since its origins in 1985 Minelab has been the world leader in providing metal detecting technologies for consumer, humanitarian demining and military needs. Through devotion to research and development and innovative design, Minelab is today a major world manufacturer of hand held metal detector products. Over the past 20 years, Minelab has introduced more innovative and practical technology than any of its competitors and has taken the metal detecting industry to new levels of excellence.
Specialising in advanced electronic technologies, Minelab's competitive advantage was created early on with a highly innovative and dedicated research and development team inspired by the innovative physicist Bruce Candy. Minelab spends a higher percentage of annual revenue in research and development than any of its competitors enabling us to continue to provide cutting edge technology in metal detecting equipment. We excel in providing leading technologies and are confident that our culture of innovation and commitment to quality will ensure Minelab continues to succeed.

With manufacturing, distribution and customer service operations in Australia, Europe and the United States you are always safe in the knowledge that customer care is close at hand. Minelab

I have the f75ltd never had the standard f75.....they say the ltd is 1-2 inches deeper I like it but can't compare....also read good things about the f75...the ltd has a boost and cache mode....hh...Dan.......God Bless

with a White's MXT. The F75 is a good detector but is prone to be affected by interfence and the MXT got much more depth on a gold wedding band in the prospect mode. I friend of mine went with the F75 and wishes he had got the MXT. There are many who do like the 75 though.

Watch Bill Ladds video , the thing makes constant noise while laying on the ground.

well................here's an ad from kellyco http://www.kellycodetectors.com/fisher/fisher_f75_ad.htm

and then there's the fact that t2 and f75 detectors have been dominating the gnrs hunts. the t2 is now famous as a relic hunter!!!!!!!!!!!

the f75s major attributes are.....
mind blowing lightning fast processor
extreme lightweight and balance
large easy to read display
simple easy to use menu
depth
target separation
the 11 inch dd coil.
trigger for gb and pinpoint

the f75s drawbacks....for me (i have about 30% to 40% hearing loss)
lightning fast, hard to process all that the detector is telling you.
tones are sometimes unclear and confusing.
using discrimination or lowering sens degrades the audio volume and sharpness

now, some would have you believe that first texas has ruined fisher and that there detectors are now cheap and there service is horrible! well.....they are idiots!!!!!! and yes there are a bunch out there!, they all came out of the woodwork as soon as it was announced that ftp would be buying fisher. first texas saved and changed bountyhunter and they have done the same for fisher.
minelab has gone through something very similar and if you havent noticed there have been tons of complaints about minelab quality and service lately.
i do not have firsthand knowledge of minelab detectors except to say that when i picked one up once (explorer se) , i was shocked at how heavy it was.
i do not have firsthand knowledge of whites detectors except to say i hunted with one(xlt) at a park once while another guy used my f75. i felt like i was hunting with an outdated, heavy slow metal detector. i put it in my car and pulled out my backup detector, bountyhunter discovery 3300!!!!!!
the f75 is said to be most comparable to the explorer when it comes to depth capabilities with the explorer being about a inch deeper than the f75 in an open field. f75 is said to be better than all others in a trashy or nail infested site. i would gladly give up an inch or so for the lightweight and comfort of the f75.
I KNOW whites makes great detectors!!!
I KNOW minelab makes great detectors!!!
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION fisher and first texas products are now way ahead of all others when it comes to advancements in ease of use, user interface/displays and technology.

now.....i will not get into any debates over who's detector is better or worse or..... whatever. i know that the more you know your detector the better it becomes!!! i do not know mine real well because of my hearing loss!!. i have heard of a guy who used to spank the competition at hunts using a bountyhunter tracker IV !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to try on no mattter how noisey they are . IT is no joke that they are good detectors and they go deep.

I would like to note also...just a couple of days ago I went to my own front yard and found 1944 nickel and 1944 penny in the same hole 6-8 inches it was hitting hard the ground was damp I had been there before with lesser machines....the F75ltd was sounding off I enjoy this detector very much ...its my first fisher brand I'm impressed Also 1944 merc. in my back yard A few days back about 6 inches.....hh.....God Bless..........Dan
