I have a hundred favourites, and a thousand lesser favourites, and then there's all the rest that I like as well.

One that I want for my funeral is Rock of Ages. The words are so wonderful as is the tune.

My favourite lines are from the third verse viz:

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Simply to the cross I cling;
Naked, come to Thee for dress;
Helpless, look to Thee for grace;
Foul, I to the fountain fly;
Wash me, Saviour, or I die.

That wonderful hymn spells it all out, our hopeless position without our Lord and Saviour.

Another of my funeral hymns will be The Old Rugged Cross.

Wonderful words, wonderful tune, wonderful harmonies; but when they sing it I won't be there!
