"METEORITE MEN";on the Science Channel 9PM Wednesday...About these guys that go all over the world searching for remnants of memeorites that hit earth long ago.Theyre using FisherF-75 detectors,I think they said. And WOW SOME of them things are worth $$$'s!!!Has anybody here ever found one with a detyector,or by just spyin it on the ground???

I seen the previews, but I don't have satalite, or cable. By watching the forums over the years it seems many have thought they have found them. Most of them are slag of sorts. There are those that have certainly found the real deal though. They are great finds!

who has been detecting them for many years. He has donated lots to the University museum & other places. He goes to N Az to find them - at a meteorite field. I can tell you that he has a lot of serious money from them. I have detected with him around town several times and he's a regular guy who got interested in them. Steve in so az

Haven't seen the show but I wish I could find one, I could use the cash !!!! No deserts around here so I guess I will just have to settle for clad and an occasional silver.

Steve, I watched the show 2 times and these 2 men were detecting for meteorites in Arizona where it is not allowed! They had permits for 3 days time limit and tried to cover a lot of land in the Meteorite Field....divided into three locations! They were swinging pretty high off the ground and in wide sweeps! In last nights show they found one that was about soft ball size and dug it carefully out of the soil! They took all and the pieces they found to a University Lab to have them checked out and when shown on the computer screen it revealed some beautiful pics of how they are made....each found in different areas were unlike the others...................can't remember the name they called the compositions but was fascinating! The men had found $3,500.00 worth after 3 days of hot, grueling weather and walking over the rocky desert land! Meteorites are made of iron, some have nickle, and will stick to a magnate but the more nickel the less they will stick! Interesting for sure! I really enjoy those treasure hunting shows! May God Bless! Amen! Betty
