Anyone got any ideas....

Tech guys come on jump in here...I have got to have a back light or something on the T2. (R7)
Is it possible to do this...or does anyone know any one who could work this out and make it happen?

KCK

P.S. Jeff you know anyone at the factory doing this Mod?

to do such a modification. One just needs to add a light source inside the pod over or on the side of the display. Grab power from the circuit, run it through a micro switch mounted out through the housing.

No, I don't do it, sorry.

It's a matter of cost.

Were looking at about 1.5 to 2 hours total time in labor. The cost of the components. Re-packaging to ship with shipping cost.

I can easy see a $100. bill disappear very easy with this mod.

Lets say that it could be done.
Let's say that it works very nicely and is comparable to the Garrett GTI 2500 Back Light.

Could a man design what we're asking for, is it doable for only $100.00 including shipping to and from?

KCK

Now how did we get shipping into the price to do the mod ?

With the way shipping rates are going you can count on between $15 to $18. each way. This is a cost that would have to be paid for by the detector owner having the work done. :surprised:

The $100. figure was a guess-a-mate of what it would cost. Depending on time, it could be more or perhaps less.

Lets say that we engineered a way to get the back light produced.
You said that would be fairly easy right. Now we draw out a schematic that explains the installation in detail. A parts list would be needed. And could even be included in the Kit.

OHHHHHHHhhhh I've got a name for it: "Mr.Bills and KCK's Super Back Lite Kit". Now all we need is a price(from you of course). I'll get hold of my world merchadising marketing agent and we'll get the sales rolling.

There is an estimated 200,000 detectors going to be sold this year alone. Many will be used models and 89% of them do not have backlights. The sales generated from only 25% (thats only 1/4 of the sales that) are reasonably possible, could reach record sale highs in no time at all!

If we market this only to these people through ads generated by detector magazines and WebSite generated pop ups... our sales could respectivily reach 10,000 sales this year alone.

If we could ship just that amount our 100% sales increase this year alone could support our detector habits for years to come. What do you say partner?
When can I expect to get that proto-type for a T2 Model in the mail....

hehehehe.

All in fun good neighbor...
Just wishful thinking on my part!
