Anyone in Macon GA? I am looking to join a MD'ing club but I can't find any. I came here to check things out to see if anyone is in or close to Macon GA. I went to Central City Park and did some scanning of the area and found nothing but trash

I now have and nothing is close to the Macon area... Just checking to see if anyone is in the area and we might be able to make a club :garrett::detecting:

I used to live in Valdosta Ga. and made a trip up to Macon, central city park. It has been hit hard over the years with all the history that has taken place there. I used to know somebody who has found quite a bit of old silver coins there and he told me to go when they have scraped the old horse track flat and disturbed the dirt. I myself found a lot of trash there but did find a wheat penny in the little stream that was as bright and shiny as the day it was made. It is a good spot that probably does still hold some good stuff. Besides it being the fairground going back into the 1800's or early 1900's , it was also a civil war troop mustering area and at one time was a camp for civil war prisoners. If I lived closer I would have hunted there a lot more but since I moved to Ohio its out of the question now. There is another old park not far from there that people routinely find good stuff at but I cant remember the name.

Yeah I still need to buy a Garrett Pro Pointer. I have not yet to scan the whole park. But I will some day. :garrett: :detecting:
