I need some motivated people to come out detecting.
People around here "RI" are lame at the detecting scene...

Hi John,

I'm in Barrington, been detecting (last 4 yrs but not on a regular basis) with a Whites XLT. Promised myself this year I'd dedicate more time (kids gone, I'm 57yrs old )

Yesterday I got the Omega 8000 with the 3 coils, went out to a farm in Portsmouth/Middletown to demo for a couple of hrs. Guess I'm using sens to high, but it seems a bit noisy , even after ground balancing.

Haven't joined any clubs as of yet, guess I didn't want to comitt on a regular basis to weekends. I'm seeing it might be a better idea now. Just can't get the balls to knock on someones door and say,
" I wanna dig on your property (but I'll be neat..). " What do you say, " I'll split the coins I find?" Guess that's why I have so little good stuff. How do you do it?

Regards, Dennis

Well mostly i go out to old colonial plantations in the middle of the woods. Its hard and hiking really takes a toll on the body but its fun.Not alot of trash so if you get a good signal its probably something good.
Im 35 years old and you probably have kids my age.......
I use the T2.I hear barrington, middleton are some really good places to detect.
Maybe we can get together sometime and share some secrets.
John
