Anyone try the coiltek platypus?

The first week I gave mine a good try out (about 3 weeks ago),I did pretty well. Found 2 mercs, 2 washingtons, 2 rosies and a 14K ring (and plenty of clad). I was in some fairly trashy areas and it seemed to separate targets well. The 2 mercs were fairly deep but "locked in" within a small window of the coil's sweep.

Silver in my area is not easy to come by. I like it. It'll come in handy in most areas I hunt. For wide open or cleaner areas like the beach, I'll use an X-12.

Hi Richard,

I have been using the Platypus coil for about five months and love it, I hunt trashy parks and found that the Platypus works very well, it pinpoints accurately and give a little better depth than the stock coil, it's a very good replacement for the stock one. I also use the 15 inch WOT for beach work when I need to cover a bit of extra ground and that works well too.
If you buy a Platypus I don't think you will be disappointed.

All the best.....Boony
