Anyone upgrade their 2500 with the new mineral chip?

If you have an older model, did you lose the treasure talk feature when you upgraded? And is the machine re-calibrated after the new chip is added?

I didn't lose the treasure-talk. And they would have re-calibrated your machine. I think now that the new models don't have Treasure-Talk, that increases the value of the older ones that do.

Thanks John. I noticed my machine acting weird in the fall and stopped using it. I figured that over the winter I would send it in, which I did today.

I called Garrett and asked them how much it would cost to get it looked at because it was just not registering right. Then I asked how much for the new chip. To fix he said it would depend on what would have to be done, but the new chip would be about $40. Then I asked how much for the new PROformance stock coil and he asked me if I was exchanging my old one I said yes because he said that sometimes the coil causes the problems I was having.

Needless to say the new coil, after turning in the old, one will cost me about $60. So I thought what the heck, let's go whole hog and do them both.

After I hung up with him I thought about the treasure talk feature. I like that especially when it is getting dark out. I don't have to waste battery power with the back light.

Chip and new coil will make a difference for sure. Lethal combo in my book. Prob will keep treasure talk. Good luck.

Yeah no sense in losing it if you don't have to. I had mine upgraded with the new chip long ago and kept the TT.

Thanks for the replies. I like the treasure talk when I press the button. I hated it when she chatted constantly.
