Anyone use a T2 and a Safari?

I've never owned t2, but I have had every brand and model just about over the past 30 years. I primarily hunt beaches, so I can only give you my honest opinion where that is concerned. I currently own a Safari that I purchased about a month ago. In the last couple of years, I primarily used a Sovereign GT, Whites BHID. Both of them are excellent machine. My 1st time out with the Safari I was fortunate enough to find a 10k class ring and my third time out a very nice 14k pendant (1.25 oz). I think both my other machines would have found them also since they were not deep. However, what I do like about the Safari is that it's very easy to use and has good depth. Again, I cannot compare to the T2 since I've never used one. If I'm not mistaken, the T2 is quite a bit less than the Safari. That's not to say it's any less of a machine. Bottom line, it really depends what your primary use is going to be. Get as much feedback as you can and good luck.

Thanks Rollie, have you used the safari on land at parks and things looking for coins? I am not near a beach so it is mostly park hunting.

I had a Safari, but I sold it. Takes a much more trained ear than any detector I've ever used. I like the simplicity of the T2. And get really good depth in my soil.

I've never swung a T2, but I have owned an an F75 for a couple of years, and recently sold the gold jewelry I found with it to pay for a used Safari. Together they make a great team. While the F75 is faster on the recovery and much lighter to swing. The Safari can hunt silently in places where the EMI is way too noisy with the F75. Also, the Safari can hunt the wet SoCal salt beach where the F75 doesn't do well. With the Safari, it's so easy to create and save custom patterns. The Safari is a lot like the Explorer and E-Trac, but with less options (I actually had an E-Trac, but traded it for the Safari because I wanted the simple interface). Other than the increased weight, the only other thing that bothers me about the Safari is the pennies sometimes come in at the same ID as quarters. But I plan on keeping both.

I agree. That is a part of the problem I am having aside from the weight of it. I have had too many shoulder surgeries and I constantly have to switch arms about every 15 minutes once I get past the first hour. Of course if I were digging a lot, it would be ok but getting to know the sounds is tough.
