Anyone used a Sunray probe?

My old Merlin has finally bit the dust after 4 years. I have been reading about the DF-1 probe by Sun Ray and was wondering if anyone on the forum has one or one of the older models. I am worried about the extra cable getting snagged in brush and if it's a hassle turning the probe on / off all the time. The price seems kind of steep, but if it saves time and goes the advertised 3", it might be worth it. Thanks, Ron

I wouldn't even go hunting without it. I like being able to dig a larger percentage of iffy targets since I know one good dig and I can stick the probe into the hole. It will read the same as if I had my big coil in there. Just a miniature coil that your ID will work the same with. If it says it's silver at the bottom of that hole it's quite an exciting feeling.
Guvner..
