Anyone using the 10"x 5.5" coil yet?

The new 10"x 5.5" coil for the CoRe has been available for a short time now. Has anyone put it to the test yet? If so, what do you think?
I like the fact that it is a solid coil and water proof as well. The spoked are coils are nice and light but hang up on brush.

Does Nokta make a "solid" coil cover for the stock 11"x 7" coil?

Thanks!

Been out a few times with my 5.5 X 10" Nokta coil and like it so far for depth and separation and I can pinpoint right of the nose of coil. It works the same as my 5.5 x 10'' Racer coil and uses the same coil cover.

Frank,
Do you find it to be an improvement over the stock 11" coil in terms of depth, sensitivity, etc.? I'm sure it must be more maneuverable and easier to get in to tight spots. I guess, in a round about way, I'm trying to determine if it's worth adding this coil to the arsenal that came with the pro pack? Thank you for your quick response!

The 10.5 x 5 seems more like a "all purpose" coil. The stock 11" coil is already a great all around coil. Not sure why I would need both.
The little OOR coil and the stock 11" would seem to cover nearly all hunting scenarios. Amirite?

You pretty much have it covered Wayne...with that combo of coils. However...I have the 5.5X10" Nokta coil and find it easier to use than the 11" stock coil primarily due to the solid configuration it has. It doesn't hang up on stubble like the open stock. I haven't had mine very long yet and have used it very little but from what I have seen in using it in my mild but dry (hard as concrete) South Texas soil...it has the potential to go every bit as deep as the stock 11". It pinpoints exceptionally well. I haven't weighed it yet but it is very lightweight. I'd say as light or lighter than the 11" stock. That's my take on it so far. I like it very much and it does run very quiet...even up to 99 sensitivity outdoors. Hope this gives you some positive insight on it.

Thanks Charles!
That's about how I thought it would be. I like the fact that it's a solid or the reasons you stated. I love the performance of the 11" but don't like the way it tends to hang up on stuff.

Hi Everyone,
I bought one of these 10''x5.5" Nokta coils and one of the ears broke in only 3 weeks of gentle use in parks etc not on any gold fields as the ears are to thin and the holes are to close to the edge so a weak point to break which is disappointing because I really wanted one of these coils.

Also it was hollow filled not epoxy filled like the Nokta Fors pro-pack coils which I think are much better quality.

So I asked for a full refund not a replacement coil to replace it, separation was ok, but didn't put a smile on my face like the 5"OOR coil and also the 10" x 5.5" coil would be buoyant in water where epoxy filled coil would be better for sure on the Nokta Fors.

Come on NOKTA PLEASE FIX this coil for us which we have been waiting a long time to purchase it for our NOKTA FORS DETECTORS! Dingo.
