Anyone using the NEL Hunter coil on F75 LTD?

I have one for my F70, the NEL Sharpshooter -- NEL makes several different coils so which one are you interested in? Check out the forum for the T2 detectors the guys over there seem to have more experience with the NEl coils.

dbax I asked about the Nel Hunter coil on F75 LTD. I use the Sharpshooter & Hunter on my E-Trac and like them better then stock coils. I now have a Hunter on the way for my F75.

Sorry Frank, I should have read your title instead of glassing over it. Don't you hate it when someone answers a question about something they know nothing about? I do -- then again, I guess I am one of those guys. My apologies again.

Frank
I got a Hunter for my Etrac and like it so much I had to get for my F75 Ltd.
it just came last week used it a few hours Saturday and all I can say is "I Like It
A Lot". As the shape of the coil lets it go where the round coils can't it to me is just a well made
all around good size coil.
One more thing I'm not much for air test but couldn't help but to smile when air testing
the F75 in BP mode with sen at 80 with the Hunter coil on a Minnie Ball. Holy Crap!!!

One more thing I'm not sure if it's ok to post on the forum where I purchased them but you get 10% off for being registered on the findmall. So the delivered price comes to less than the list price. Any questions just pm me.

I ordered one and did get my 10% Find Mall discount will receive any day now. Now just have get rid of all this white stuff!

I've got the 5" round NEL and the Tornado 12x13 NEL coil for my F75

I honestly don't see the purpose/advantage of the Hunter coil for the F75. It is the same size as the factory biaxle coil. NEL makes coils for a lot of manufacturers and many of the manufacturers don't offer a coil in the size/shape of the Hunter....but the F75 and T2 come stock with it. I think the real gem of the NEL coils is that they also offer coils in other sizes that are not available from the factory for F75/T2...such as the Tornado or Storm. The one plus to the NELs of the same size as the stock biaxle is that they are shielded a lot better than the factory coils...which makes them a little less prone to EMI. Otherwise, unless my stock coil was going bad, I wouldn't even consider the Hunter for the F75. I have the standard F75 that did not come with the 5" round coil...so that's why I have a NEL 5" round one. Simply because it was cheaper than the Fisher factory 5". I can run it at 99 sensitivity in my house...no chatter.

The Tornado is a bit more chattery but goodness that thing is a bad mamma jamma. With the snow and ice, I've not had a chance to get out in the field with the Tornado yet. Just air tested it. I can only run it to about 80-85 sensitivity in the house...but at those settings and disc set at 6, it air tests a minie ball with a very consistent repeatable beep at 15 inches...and at about 16 inches with just an occasional beep. This is just the standard F75 without BP mode. When I run it to 99 sens in JE mode, I can get it about 16.5 on the minie.

I also had a Ultimate 13" coil that is the same size as the Tornado. On the same minie ball, it would only air test it to 13.5 inches but that test was done OUTSIDE with the Ultimate, and at 99 sensitivity!! .

Hey Daniel! How is the tornado working out for you and your hunting? How is the EMI with it in the field? Do you like it better than the ultimate coil by chance? If so, I ribbing admit adding a tornado to my hunting arsenal.

Thank you
Bubba
