April 14 relic hunt...unbelievable!

Went back to the same site i have relic hunted the past two weekends. Took my son again and also my hunting partner Rick from central Ky. The story of the day...deepest non-ferrous target I have ever dug with my G2 w/ Ultimate coil. I got a signal that I have heard before ...the softest whiper that could still be considered even a signal. Alternating from iron to non-ferrous numbers and again..barely a whisper. I called Rick over and said listen to this. He ran his Vaquero with 10" widescan coil over it, and got only a broken bit of a signal. I told him , I have dug this type of signal before, and it is usually a good deep target at the absolute limit of the machine. I dug...and dug...and dug and finally with my arm deep in the hole my pinpointer had arrived the target. I felt is HAD to be only iron at this depth, but it wasn't...it was ...a... shotgun shell hull! Yeah, I know big deal right? Junk target. Gentleman , that sucker was at the 14" mark! The handle of my Lesche digger was 2" below the top of the hole! Point is, it could have been a Union Staff button or a large coat size eagle button and I would have gotten it. Rick was blown away. Thank goodness, I had a witness to this as I know people won't believe it, but it's true. Rick said that he's seen enough and is getting a G2 with an Ultimate coil. All the other targets were from 7-9" down. Hope to post pics of the finds (mostly just bullets) later. Something to keep in mind, is that the soil in this spot is mild (GB's usually in the 57-63 range). Still, as I have said before, for relic hunting I have never found a better machine/coil combo....I am never getting rid of my G2! Happy hunting all!

It is a hot set up buddy. I have been hunting a old Confederate camp & I'm pulling buttons every time . I also am finding carved bullets & drops. I love the machine. It's quiet & deep. It has turned into my go to machine. I to have been digging deep shot gun hulls. Thanks for the heads up about a great relic machine.
