Are newer Omegas better at resisting EMI?

Ive used three Omegas that were all version 4 including one from from over 3 years ago and one from late 2013 and they handled EMI the same.

My older Omega loved emi but got another one earlier this year. A version 5 with a make date of 3/14, if I recall correctly. Now, this one will still chatter with the coil off the ground in emi situations, but once the coil gets face down on the ground little to no emi chatter. I have also discoverd that a frequency shift helps where as with my older model, very little. Although I can't compare, I also have the sense that the latest one has a bit more depth. HH jim tn

I owned two...the first was 4 yaers ago...EMI was a HUGE problem...had a version 4 one two months ago...NO DIFFERENCE

Well I'm new to the Teknetics Omega...........but been detecting since 1974!!! (I actually owned the old Original Teknetics 8500 and a 7700). So far,I don't have any EMI problems at all. We were down near Huntington beach and my friends Tesoro Deleon was acting up but the Omega was fine!! I'll see how it goes but so far no problem....................was there a serial number for the problem machines? Maybe the new ones have had a more effective fix?
