Walking In The 'Light' & Keeping 'His' Commandments

"Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments" (1 John 2:3, NKJV).

A pastor had been counseling a husband & wife. The problem? The husband had been having extramarital affairs. That's not an extramarital affair but, in fact, many of them. The husband tried to calm the situation by telling the wife that although he had been with other women, it didn't mean that he didn't love her. In fact, he said, he loved her more than any of the others. As could be expected, his words

I saw a sign for a church that says: Mind Your Father! If we love Jesus then we obey Him like we would our natural parents. James 2: 17, 18 ....Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
26.....For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also!

Faith, Hope and Charity! And the greatest of these is Charity (Love) and by loving our blessed Savior, Jesus, we have faith, hope and charity....without these we cannot obey the commandments of God!

Another sign I also saw is: If life wrinkles, get a FAITH lift! God Bless! Betty

You can see a man as he is growing in the Lord. Yet a man may be saved and still live in the flesh (1st cor ch 1 I believe). Only that man and God know for sure. You can get a pretty good idea though just by watching a mans actions and his growth. Isn't that what is meant by knowing Christ? That desire to know him better each day and continue to grow in his ways.

Some of us try our best to stay walking in the light. The majority of is do not. That is why the US will fall. The whole world will fall to the global islamic threat in time.
Sadly.

Greetings, all, from a very pleased newbie to find this Christian MD forum.
FRUITS are what it is all about. Are we showing God's Glory and Christ's Redemption by what we say, who we are, what we do and where we go to and come from? ALMIGHTY God will transform you from everything contrary to what he deems his good pleasure and outline of obedience. You can't HELP but show forth what God has wrought in you.
I have a friend whose father is a major source of "Christian" thinking for him. This friend is like I was before my "transformation": alcohol-riddled, drug-addicted, in love with his sin. His father goes to one of those thousands of like-MINDED churches that preaches the running to the altar to be "saved", then it being a lifelong effort to get "transformed". You know the: "It's okay, we all fall short of the Glory of God. We all make mistakes. Don't worry about it if you can't stop drinking, drugging, smoking. It's hard." So my friend is okay with the fact that he can still be in love with his sin and still get into heaven. Meanwhile his wife and child are far from him, of course, as he continues setting his own standards for his life, backed up by false assurance.
My God is ALMIGHTY. What kind of god is preached that can only do "so much" for a sinner? You can tell by the FRUITS.

Welcome KenLove to the CMD Forum we are glad to have another brother posting with us! Yes, if the tree bears good fruit it will be pruned for bearing more good fruit; but if the tree bears bad fruit it will eventually be cut down and not bear any fruit at all! Therefore, we know the tree (Christian) by the fruit it (he or she) bears! God will not always strive with man and eventualy will leave Him to go his own way of sinning willfully! If we love Jesus, as our own personal Savior, we will not be sinning willfully for it is a sorrow to Him and our Heavenly Father! The Bible says, anyone who keeps on sinning will not enter into God's glory but will be cast out into eternal darkness and finally into the Lake of Fire! Jesus told the adulterous woman to go and sin no more! If she could not help sinning then he certainly wouldn't have said, To Sin No More! When saved and filled with God's Holy Spirit, we have help in enduring and overcoming all things....even sinfulness! Hope you post often and God Bless! Ma Betty

Greetings, SeniorSeeker!
I've been a-settin'-a-spell here at these forums for a coupla days now! So wonderful to find such a place-and with a CHRISTIAN forum as well.
Everybody beware: I am a hardline, Almighty God-believing, Gospel expositing, ultra-conservative spiritual bloodhound.
Thirty year addict set to liberty by the Spirit. Just wrote a book about my former career called "Turn Again Our Captivity", looking for an agent-probably end up self-publishing.
Had a White's detector a few years ago but pawned it for drugs and never saw it again.
Bought a BH Tracker IV for my 49th birthday on July 17th, can't seem to put it out of my mind-excepting when I pray and when I'm into devotionals and study (Treasury of David by Spurgeon-now on Psalm 92).
LOVING the sweetness of the expectancy of eternity in my Savior's ever-presence. How about you?

Hope you enjoy the forum.
Where do you call home?

Well Ken join the family as I've been called hardnosed too and I am an Ultra-Conservative, Spirit-filled Christian and a Bloodhound also I guess! I only want to post the Gospel Truth of Jesus but getting older sometimes I goof on my typing and get mixed up on what I say but ya can correct me anytime ya wnat to do, as long as it is written Scripture! :) I became 74 years young, yesterday, and the old body and mind don't work so well any more because of COPD and Osteo-Arthritis and taking care of a very sick brother, but Jesus keeps me going! Praise His holy name! Amen! God Bless! Betty
