Asheville, North Carolina

Going to be in Asheville North Carolina. I was Just wondering if the city parks are open for detecting.

Have you checked the city's website, to see if the park's dept. has their rules posted? Or if they don't have rules posted, it should be available on the desk at city hall, as public record. As long as there are no specific prohibitions (specifically saying "no metal detecting", etc...), then ...... so be it. Notice that you check for yourself, rather than ask someone "are there any rules that prohibit metal detecting?" Because, unfortunately, sometimes desk-bound city clerks have been known to interprt that, as if you're asking their permission, rather than asking if there's any written rules. And unfortunately, sometimes "no's" have been passed out, where no one really ever cared before (till you asked). Thus, check the rules for yourself, and if it's silent on the issue, then so be it :)
