i have the at gold and was wondering if i purchased a concentric coil for it,would it be of a benifit to me? i'm not out on the gold fields most of the time and the soil here is pretty mild.i was thinking of the small one,6x9 8inch,to use in the local parks.blowfly

I prefer my concentric coils in my area, as they give a more reliable ID which really helps to eliminate bottle caps. The only exception is the "DD" 5 x 8 coil, which gets nice depth, good target separation and pretty good ID capabilities. I like how concentric coils ID also.

" I prefer my concentric coils in my area, as they give a more reliable ID which really helps to eliminate bottle caps" Your quote John. John I did some research on the AT Pro back in Oct 2010 and found some pretty cool videos in regards to some of the features and abilities of the AT Pro that really got me interested in Garretts machine. Here are some of those videos from my old archives and in the first video in particular Brent Weaver the lead engineer who developed the AT Pro explains and demonstrates the AT Pro's professional mode and at about 10:05 he shows how bottle caps are stopped dead in their tracks with the iron audio feature. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?27,1309852,1315926#msg-1315926
Anyone who has the AT Pro must see these videos as it will really help owners understand why and how the features work. I hope everyone can benefit from this.
Cheers!

thank you john,i have been using the 5x8dd in the local parks and found stuff, but, having used concentric coils on other machines,i tend to favour them more for there discrimination than dd's.blowfly
