AT Pro Connectors

I really do like this machine. However I do not like the coil and headset connections. They are buried too far into the body of the housing making it difficult to insert the connectors and difficult to tighten them. Are these connectors proprietary? I am wondering if there might be 90 degree adapters available somewhere that would solve the problem without messing up the watertight integrity of the connections. If they are proprietary, maybe Garrett might consider making them available for a retrofit.

Yeah, we have all suffered with those connections the first few times we had to deal with them. I found they do get easier to connect, but non the less, a real failing on a pretty darn good detector. If you are new to the A T Pro/Gold, they do get easier. HH jim tn

A poster here called SavingThePast did a VERY trick and easy headphone cable modification...your average Joe should be able to do this in 15min or less with no trouble... he posted great pictures back on October 30.....post was titled, "the thing I hate about the AtPro"......definitely something to look at if you change phones a lot or want to eliminate fooling with the plug....

Thanks guys for the input. I have marked the correct position of the connectors, both male and female with dots of black paint to make it easier to align the darn things and modified a small Channellock to help tighten them in place.
