AT Pro Questions

So I decided to purchase the AT Pro last Saturday and it seemed to have a coil issue as I would get a tone on all 3 parts of the coil....as I sweep the coil over a target it will sound on the outside left and right edges of the coil as well as the center....so, Garrett was amazing and told me to send it in and they would get a me a new one before I left on my trip on Friday....well today I received the new one and it does the same thing. Is this "normal'? Also, on the new one when I am in "coin" mode on either the Pro or Standard operation it automatically notches out the foil, and the 55-65 notches. When I check the manual it states that in coin mode factory setting should only notch the foil. I have tried to reset to factory settings and it does the same thing. Any ideas or suggestions?

Also, I would like to know which settings people use most often.

Surface targets will often sound-off three times with some DD coils. Put a little distance between the target and coil and you should hear only one response.

I believe this is a design function of the AT coil and not a design defect.

hi
pro mode (more performant) and zero disc. u will not lose a target. it's a sniper!!!

bye.

Everything you said is normal. I'm surprised the Garrett didn't tell you that. You will pick up coins on the outside edges plus the center. Also I believe the manual has a misprint in not showing the correct notching in coin mode. What I'm saying is everything is good to go............

I agree, nothing wrong with your coil, try Custm Mode then you can notch in or out anythig you want or don't want.

Good Luck with your A T Pro

You are correct that the manual is wrong. Below is a reply from Garrett.

Good morning Jim,

What you are describing is normal, they had the wrong picture in the manual also the wrong information in the manual. There is so post to be two pixels notched out between 50 and 60. The reason being is because on all of our metal detectors that have a display, has pull-tabs notched out in coin mode. Also Custom mode will always look like Coin mode until you change the settings in Custom Mode.
So what you are describing is totally normal, it doesn
