AT Pro water proof question

Daddy Rabbit

New member
Is the At Pro water proof with the standard headphones connected at the control box. I understand that the headphones are not waterproof. But if I put the pro into the water with only the standard head phones connected, will the control box still be water proof? When I detect my local lake, I don't get over waist deep.

A picture says it all.

I'm glad you asked the question. I also looked at the pictures but it is deceiving because it looks like the headphones used in the advertisement are the blue waterproof models.

So why would a person buy the blue head phones if the black ones work fine and are water proof at the connection point. You cant really dive down with this detector beyond 10 ft.

Or be like me and be willing to dunk your head to dig because you only have a short scoop.

Waves, drop your detector and the headphones pull off, some little brat kid decides it would be fun to splash water on you or swim by kicking as hard as possible.
Salt collecting on them at the beach. Many many reasons to have waterproof phones got mine in the mail today.

If your in the water, things just happen.....better to be ready. As for me.. i will be using mask and snorkel and going to bottom at 6-7 feet. I gotta get those water proof head phones if and when i buy this unit. HH Mikey
