I made a post earlier today admitting to the world that I keep forgetting to turn the toggle back to coil after I have used the probe mode of my DX-1. Scott came up with a great idea, and I wonder if any of you guys could help us out? Scott suggested to mount a switch on the saddle that the probe mounts into. When you remove the probe from the saddle, it activates the probe. When you put the probe back in the saddle, it reactivates the coil. Seems to me that a simple pushbutton, two position switch would do the trick. Any of you guys willing to fine tune this idea? If you do and it works well, post some pictures and tell us where to buy the components and how to do modification. I think it is an excellent idea for all of us Sun Ray probe users with CRS.

I will do what I seem to be doing more of all the time. I will leave myself a note. This one to remind me to turn the toggle back to coil mode. Better tape the note to the upper rod, under the probe mount, or I will forget what toggle I am talking about.

I found myself actually 'detecting' along for almost 20' one time just marveling at how quiet my MXT was running......then it dawned on me. I can be such a dumass sometimes!
