Folks,
I've had my 3D since last April. I spent a lot of time here and some other message bords (mostly here) when the 3D was being heavily discussed.
I created a Word doc. and collected the INSTRUCTIVE posts. It along with the Fisher books have been extremely helpful in cutting down my learning curve. Lots of these posts are by Dankowski.
Anybody who wants this Word doc, just email me:rdcottrill at netzero.net
There is no cost or catch. The people on this site have helped me learn and I'm just returning the favor.
HH,
Dave

Indeed CZ's are easy to setup, but it takes a while to learn their language and those little tips. Hope you have read Mikes CZ page which I call a CZ users bible...

Dan,
I use every resource to learn from that I can find. I have read and re-read Dankowski's handouts. The best info comes from you guys who actually use these machines. Your experiences of digging trash and good stuff saves me from repeating those mistakes and hopefully my experiences shared here helps others.
The pics of finds keeps me "Pumped up" to go back out there after a few days of digging clad. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
When I get into any hobby, I have tendency to read as much info as I can get my hands on. I have piles of magazines around that pertains to my other hobbies.
Hobbies I still pursue or did pursue in the past are:
Coaching Youth Football (I own 84 books on coaching football), Flyfishing, Bowhunting, Powerlifting, among others.

Hi I noticed one thing just now about your post.
I think you actually need to experience some of what you read about. and actually make some of the mistakes for actual experience.
You mentioned saving digging time by not having to make mistakes digging wrong stuff from reading posts.
I think by putting together experience and what you have read will confirm realy knowing whats happening.
I to also have read much from the forums and Mikes and Andy Sabitch books etc.
They help me in answering my questions to myself with some of the experiences I get from digging up those mystery digs at times.
The reading about such does not replace the digging I must do to really find out whats in the ground at times. But the reading does help me confirm some of my suspicions about what may be happening at times and if others experience similar situations with detectors I use.
But your point well taken about the help you received by reading the various posts on here.
Who knows maybe you may do a dig just out of spite and ignore some of the advice and come up with a 1916d dime say deep or along side of a piece of iron.
Just something else to keep under your hat.
HH
Dan R.
